Gifts of the Holy Spirit Can Transform a Man

The fruits of the Holy Spirit is one in which is mostly ignored in a Christians’ life. Some of these fruits are; faithfulness, love, patience, peace, joy, and so on. If all of these fruits have been given to all Christians; why do some still harbor hatred, impatience, trouble, sadness, and more? There may be a few reasons, namely; lack of knowledge of God’s word, battle with the enemy, and intermittent or no fellowship with God.

The gifts of the Holy Spirit could sometimes be confused for the fruits of the Holy Spirit. Although, interrelated, there are differences. The gifts of the Holy Spirit are; understanding, wisdom, reverence, counsel, fear of the Lord, wisdom and courage. A believer can have all these gifts by constantly engaging in Holy Spirit prayer. The Holy Spirit has used me in several ways to achieve excellence in academics, career and more. In my book, titled; Unleashing God’s Power: Maximize This Great Benefit of Christianity in Your Life, I highlighted many ways in which I was helped by the Holy Spirit to achieve success. I discussed how it happened, what I did to make it happen, and the results that came about.

Engaging in Holy Spirit prayer is very vital for Christians because when you do this, it is God the Holy Spirit in you who is praying to God the Father. This guarantees you answered prayers because you will be praying the perfect will of the Father.

One Wednesday morning, I was in a far country, where I attended early morning breakthrough prayer session. As I was on my way home, I stopped by my one of my Pastor friend’s house. I had been born again for a while but not baptized in the Holy Spirit. Guess what she asked me? “Would you like to be baptized in the Holy Spirit”? Immediately, I knew it was a divine arrangement; so I said yes, right away, and ever since then my life has been transformed. As I stand today, I can gladly tell you that I have all of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the fruits of the Holy Spirit. However, note that these did not just happen overnight; it took several months or even years of continually engaging in Holy Spirit prayer.

One attribute I love about the Holy Spirit is that, He is always ready to help you, but most times you need to ask Him. He is also a very gentle Spirit; He does not force Himself on any man or woman, you have to invite Him. I shared some testimonies that I received through the Holy Spirit in my book. When you receive the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit; you will be a transformed human being. One condition is; you have to be born again to receive and enjoy these benefits.

Engage in Secular Music or Praise Music?

Some people still view praise music as just mere songs. The fact of the matter is that; when you engage in higher praise, you are not praising man or woman, you are praising God. There are a lot of virtues in praise songs, for example; when you sing higher praise sincerely and long enough, if you are sick, you can get healed, if you are depressed, you can get joyful, if you are oppressed, you can get delivered.

As Christians, you should not spend most of your time listening to secular songs; do not get me wrong, secular songs are great, and I occasionally listen to them but what I am trying to say here is that, secular songs cannot produce for you any of the virtues of praising God as mentioned above. These types of worldly songs only praise; men, women, children, materials, money, sex, anger, hatred, murder and so on.

Let me shed some light on these; for example, if you have a son or daughter who needs something from you, and he or she starts praising your friend instead of you, would you be prompted to give him or her the request? Probably not! This is the same way God views the scenario of praise music; that is, when a Christian engages in praising God, He becomes happy with us and gives us the desires of our hearts. However, when we do not give higher praise to Him, instead spend most of our time listening to and singing secular songs, God will not be fully committed to act or move on our behalf. This is the reason God says in His word; “God inhabits the praises of His people.” If God says it, you better believe it and obey with all your heart.

I must say, in this day and age, it is very easy to follow and do the things of the world but the things of God’s kingdom are usually quite challenging or tasking. This is the reason why some people either completely ignore the things of God or start to do them, and sooner or later quit. There is only one being responsible for this, which is the enemy. From my observation, I have found out that most Christians find it easier to pray for long hours than to dwell on praising God for even a short while.

One Sunday morning, while listening to a wonderful sermon at my church, I heard my Pastor say that; he has never heard anyone say to another,” have you praised God”  during a time of adversity, but always, you hear people say, “have you prayed.” The wall of Jericho fell down by praise, Paul and Silas were freed from prison by praise, and so on.  A man of God once said, when you pray to God, He sends angels to carry out the tasks, but these angels can be temporarily intercepted by the enemies; however, when you praise God, He comes down himself to carry out the task, which no enemy can intercept.  Higher praise is the most potent weapon that is available to a Christian, so therefore, engage in it and see results.

Understanding Faith and Excelling

If you were to define faith, how would you do so? Well in a nutshell, God's definition of faith in the bible, is, "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." The word of faith is a very important topic to all Christians; In fact, God says "It is impossible to please God without faith."

Another way to define faith is; this is what I believe and I am not going to waver until I get it. Moreover, if you look through the bible, you will see that all the great men and women God used to perform signs, wonders and miracles, operated on high level of faith.

A statement of faith is; although, you are sick in the natural but you know that in the Spiritual you are healed, and when you claim your healing by either confessing healing scriptures, saying a prayer of agreement, or just continually singing worship, praise or hymn songs; you will find out that your healing was already settled in the Spiritual according to the word of God and will manifest in the physical.

We can see this occur in our lives because when we act by saying a word of faith or a statement of faith, and put our faith to works; the almighty God will be pleased and committed to act in our favor. Let me give you another definition of faith that will shed some light on you; faith is an irresistible creative force that manifests things of the Spiritual into the natural. This scenario can be seen in how God created the heaven and the earth, and everything in it by faith; He said, "let there be light and there was light."

Although, the standard way to define faith is that seen in the bible scripture and also seen in the beginning statement of this article. A statement of faith is one which involves the "now" factor, that is, whether you say a word of faith or a prayer of faith; you must instantly believe that you have received your desires. I have heard several cases of Christians who got sick, and by faith refused to take drugs knowing that God will heal them, and He did.

God deposited a measure of faith in every human being during creation but often times; the enemy tries to rob man off this faith.

Faith is a powerful Spiritual weapon that God has given man, among other weapons, such as; love, prayer, God's word, praise, hope and more. In this present day and age , many end time churches are being taught the word of faith.

There are several ways to increase your faith in God. Let me give you a few effective ways:

1. Faith comes by hearing the word of God, either through the bible, sermons and anointed books.

2. Faith increases by hearing other peoples' testimonies of the goodness of God.

3. You can ask God to increase your faith.

4. Faith increases when you praise and thank God continually.

Now I have shared with you the various definitions of faith and how to increase your faith in God; it is time to increase your faith, put your faith to works, and experience signs, wonders and breakthroughs in your life.
